Reactions Happen, vote Bush 2004

The Bush "Response" to Kerry's speech last night.

'RESULTS MATTER'
Bush touted his 3-1/2 year record of legislative and military "results" -- from the passage of his tax cuts and education agenda to wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and improvements in homeland security.
(please read text in full)

This comment intrigued me. Hmm I couriously Googled for GW 200o convention speech I found it here

Guess what words were couriously absent, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bin Laden, Terrorism.
I think the quote "results matter" should be changed to "reactions happen", it would be more accurate. Oh to his defense, he once illuded to national security. Here it was.
"We will confront the hard issues, threats to our national security, threats to our health and retirement security, before the challenges of our time become crises for our children."

A couple notable quotes.

"Another test of leadership is tax relief. The last time taxes were this high as a percentage of our economy, there was a good reason; we were fighting World War II. Today our high taxes fund a surplus. Some say that growing federal surplus means Washington has more money to spend. But they've got it backwards. The surplus is not the government's money; the surplus is the people's money."

Ok GW a return to war coupled with a return to defecits, 445,000,000,000.00 (that is 445 billion dollars) Sounds like good reasons, as you said, to get rid of the tax cuts. Hey, we are not in a surplus anymore.

"A generation shaped by Vietnam must remember the lessons of Vietnam: When America uses force in the world, the cause must be just, the goal must be clear, and the victory must be overwhelming."

Why is Vietnam not important anymore, because your competitor was a war hero?
Iraq war.
cause just? that depends on the 12 reasons he gave based on public opinion polls, originally because of the WMD's transferred to "iraq is better off without saddam in power, we are liberators, what about the 1,000,000 million people killed in central africa when we sat on the border? Oh no oil sorry!
goal must be clear. how do we reach this goal.
victory must be overwhelming! Remember "Mission Accomplished"

"I will work to reduce nuclear weapons and nuclear tension in the world, to turn these years of influence into decades of peace. And at the earliest possible date, my administration will deploy missile defenses to guard against attack and blackmail."

Wha What! this is just wrong!

Miss America Pageant Cans Talent Spots

-- The Miss America pageant is pulling the plug on its talent competition, eliminating the amateurish two-minute routines that have come to feature cheesy stunts such as tractor driving and trampoline jumping.

Ok I agree, A girl singing, playing a musical instrument or acting on stage is hardly a talent.
A girl recreating a science experiment nah, anybody can do that. Get rid of them, but... your tearing out my heart here!! (I write this actually never having watched a competition in my life, however if the article was reversed and it said "All Ms. America Contestants will be required to jump on trampolines and then drive tractors", I would have been a loyal viewer.
This is just wrong, amateurish my ass look at all the talent!

Create the habit of...

Blogging everyday. Well I am trying for the third time to republish myself in this blog world we live in.
Some overall views on the convention and politics etc.

What ever happened to news reporters?
I do enjoy reading editorials, I actually like them when the are called editorials rather than, "News", "truth", "no spin", "right"

I watched the Bill O'Reilly, Michael Moore interview/debate, (click video tab and watch it)(as the site says "
This is a partial transcript from "The O'Reilly Factor," July 27, 2004 that has been edited for clarity." What say you clarity?
It was very interesting indeed. Both made good points, I did not however watch it live. I was at a neighbors house who were watching Fox, O'Reilly was on he talked about the interview, He played a limited clip where at first glance it looks like Michael Moore is completely "schooled" by O'reilly. The clip ends, seamlessly Bill continues to talk about it, Michael Moore really looked bad. Now in fairness he says to go online and see the whole interview. Ok who does this? Other than super nerd me? Michael Moore is too articulate and intelligent to look that bad.
And fox touts itself as fair and balanced?
All I want to understand is this. Please help me,
On Fox the Democrats are trying to divide the country by scaring the country
On CBS
the Republicans are trying to divide the country by scaring the country
Michael Moore says George Bush Lied
Ruch Limbaugh says John Kerry Flip Flops

All presented as facts.
Please.

Until we have a media source that is not for profit, free from needing to collect advertising dollars and free from the political
FCC machine this will always be a problem.
Why concentrate media into 8-9 major hands? So they can turn around and support candidates financially in political elections, so as a thank you by the elected ones we will continue to allow media conglomerates to grow, Only if,
ONLY IF you do not show "The Reagans" on network television, Black Rappers on stage during the super bowl (Toby Keith is ok though), We will begin to allow pharmaceutical companies to spend a great % of their budgets (billions) to market and advertise on television and radio. "Ask" your doctor if Levitra is right for you, You do not want to be a pussy in the bedroom do you? If your doctor doesn't agree find one who will. They are a quack if they do not prescribe medicines anyway, can't they see that these drugs are safe, they advertise them on television and report them on the news. (195,000 people in the hospital died last year from medical errors, this does not even include Drs Offices and Outpatient FAcilities) "this country needs a comprehensive prescription benefit in the medicare program" "we need drugs from canada" bullshit, we need to get pharmaceutic companies off of television and radio. Ok thanks for softening those rules, we will not play the Dixie Chicks on any of our radio programming and further we will kick howard stern off the air as soon as he goes political, Hey great. Heh Heh Heh, Let us go get another scotch and soda buddy!

Fantasy Football Time
It is that time of year again, it is the time that some look forward to (ok me)
As acting commissioner of an upstart league with money, and eternal pride on the line I will be a little ambigious here.
Our draft will be the week before the NFL season begins. My enemies are everywhere, scouring the internet to get an advantage on me, they will not succeed.
I will post updates for you as the draft approaches, until then my friends.
12 days until

Hanging outside the comfort zone
I had the opportunity yesterday to attend a show I otherwise would not attend.
As a somewhat closet fan of Snoop let me tell you that I had the after seeing him yesterday, I am coming out.

"You better give that girl a backstage pass, because she has a backstage ass"

Korn and Linkin Park played as well. Quite a good show, glad I went, I probably will not buy those CD's but I am certainly better off for it.

Corruption at The All things Jen(nifer) Blog !

Scandal, What does All things Jen, and The Bush Administration have in common?

Censorship, I have personally seen posts enter the blog only to disappear when the conversation does not go the way the "author" hopes it would.

You are a true republican! For shame "She GW"
